CELEBRATING JUNETEENTH & BLACK MUSIC MONTH

This past weekend, True Religion celebrated Juneteenth by proudly sponsoring Los Angeles’s 4th Annual Black on the Block event—a vibrant celebration of over 100 Black-owned businesses, creatives, and entrepreneurs.

.

The event was a powerful reminder of resilience, community, and the importance of uplifting Black-owned brands and culture-shapers. Our community is our core, which is why we were especially proud to team up with the Youth Business Alliance, an organization that supports and spotlights the young entrepreneurs who represent our future.

“Since 2021, Black on the Block has been a transformative platform dedicated to uplifting thousands of small Black-owned businesses, creatives, professionals, and entrepreneurs across the country. Partnering with True Religion for our flagship event not only amplifies our mission, but also helps us foster a space rooted in culture, creativity, and meaningful community connection.” —Lanie Edwards, Co-Founder of Black on the Block

To keep the party going, we pulled up to Spotify HQ in downtown LA to celebrate Black Music Month and attend TheBasement Series, an event to amplify the rising stars in music. In True style, we hosted an Artist Lounge to support—and dress— the emerging Black artists shaping the future of sound and style.

Up-and-coming artist Aaron Page rocked us on stage, while Spotify’s Michelle Shante repped True during a powerful panel discussion on the impact of Black artists and the entertainment industry—proving that music and fashion go hand in hand.

Throughout the award show weekend, R&B group 2BYG and Myaa P each brought individuality front and center—and to their looks. Whether it was 2BYG’s monochrome-on-monochrome ensemble or Myaa P being the fairy that she is in new women’s graphic tees, dressing these artists wasn’t just about the clothes, it was about helping them feel powerful, seen, and as show-stopping as their music.

Because when you Own Your True, it’s more than just a performance—it’s a statement.

As we honor Juneteenth and Black Music Month, one thing is clear: amplifying Black voices isn’t limited to a moment. It’s a commitment we carry year-round, through the partners and voices we sport and the spaces we help create. From our stores to the stage, True Religion is proud to support the artists and creatives who are shaping what’s next.
